The HUAWEI BBU5900 is a wireless access device for the eLTE wireless broadband private network solution. It provides wireless access functions, including air interface management, access control, mobility control, and user resource allocation. The BBU5900 can meet the needs of industry users for wireless broadband access and multimedia critical communication, and obtain better coverage and user experience. The BBU5900 adopts a modular structure, with the baseband unit BBU and remote radio unit RRU eployed separately. The BBU5900 has the characteristics of small size, low power consumption, flexible installation, and rapid deployment.
The Huawei BBU5900 has three distinctive features: "Six Modes in One Box", "Very Large Transmission Capacity" and "Extreme 5G-oriented Evolution". It is designed to meet the future requirements of multi-band, multi-RAT and multi-service converged networks.
The BBU5900 processes baseband signals of a base station. A BBU consists of the following subsystems: baseband subsystem, power and mechanical subsystem, transmission subsystem, interconnection subsystem, main control subsystem, monitoring subsystem, and clock subsystem. Each subsystem consists of a different module.
It manages the entire base station system in terms of operation and maintenance (OM) and system clock.Provides physical ports for information exchange between the base station and the transport network.Provides an OM channel between the base station and the LMT, SMT, or U2000.Processes uplink and downlink baseband signals, and provides common public radio interface (CPRI) ports for communication with radio frequency (RF) modules.
